The infrastructural works have started in some areas of the Sigonella Air Force Airport.
LMV World is part of this ambitious project for the construction design, production and installation of two metal carpentry Hangars painted according to fire protection standards and assembled using suitable high strength bolts.
The Hangar, called P407, has a plant size of about 108 x 45 meters and a height of about 18 meters. The Hangar, called P655, has a plant size of 105 x 52 meters and a height of about 20 meters. Each of the two Hangars is accompanied by a service area called “Backshop”. The metalwork of the two Hangars is in painted S355JR steel.
The structures of the Hangars consist of 12 and 14 reticular trusses whose upper and lower bridles are made of welded beams and commercial profiles. Each truss has a horizontal length of about 52 meters. Purlins are constituted by the coupling of UPN profiles, L-shaped and tubular.
The buildings are completed with corrugated sheet metal claddings and expanded polyurethane lining for roofs and floors. In the “Backshop” area and in the Hangars will also be provided and laid parapets, walkways, embossed slabs of the floors, internal and external ramp stairs, seafaring staircase and currents.
LMV World supplies and installs a total of 1.800 tons of metallic carpentry.
